The Consulate General of India, New York has partnered with Amy to discover and pursue opportunities to develop awareness and new markets for Indian tea. It is through their joint efforts that these events are possible. And for that, we are excited and grateful in equal measure!
Given that the Consulate General of India, New York’s mission is to stimulate trade and engender goodwill between nations, partnering with Amy to promote Indian tea was an easy choice. Amy opened the first Indian tea shop in the Western Hemisphere in 2005, the first Indian Tearoom in the nation in 2016 and has been leading tours of Americans to see tea gardens in India for themselves since 2020.
Though she claims no expertise in Indian culture, per se, her love of tea as a gift of nature knows no bounds or borders. She has the rare combination of knowing the US market extremely well and also having a deep understanding of Indian tea as both a beverage and an industry. She is also able to design marketing materials, produce events and orchestrate experiences where her knowledge can best be shared.
The Summer Fancy Food Show in New York in 2023 is their 6th event in New York together under the leadership of Consul General, Randhir Jaiswal, though 8 events can be counted total, as Amy also spoke as a sponsored guest at the World Tea Expo in both 2021 and 2022 with support from the Consulate General of India, New York
